Maria Ana Bobone is sadly under recognised in the UK but then Fado is still understandably regarded as a tradional genre of limited appeal. She has addressed this at home in Portugal with a "fusion departure" perhaps to the detriment of her traditional support but much to the benefit of those looking to try this classical and haunting form of music. Sure it is not for everyday consumption but from time to time this level of vocal purity and power is unbeatable. Her more recent work in Fado and Piano and Nome de Mar before that are even more accessible to the ear but correspondigly hard to find on CD!
