Not bad.I read the hardcover edition, it is a very large book. Coffee table sized book. The book comprises three volumes, all are different stories. Characters, setting and plot are all different in each volume with the exception of one character who appears throughout all three volumes. There are science fiction elements woven into each story. I particularly enjoyed the march that took place in The Stone Ship. The back cover of the book indicated all three stories were originally written in the 1970s. It took a little while for each story to get going, they were slow in the beginning. I also felt a little lost for context, but that may also be because I read the book in 2022. Payoffs in each story were also uneven. The payoff in The Stone Ship was good, I was at a loss of what the point was for The Cruise of the Forgotten though. The City That Did Not Exist was also good, The Stone Ship was the best.Slow, still fun to read, a little too muddled through.
